Cloud Storage Security Announces the Launch of GenAI Secure

June 11, 2024 - Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner, Cloud Storage Security (CSS), has launched GenAI Secure, a new product offering purpose-built to protect businesses large and small from the threat of malware and sensitive data exposure through Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) applications.

Data going into GenAI models can contain malicious code, while sometimes an AI model is designed in a way that sensitive data is inadvertently delivered as a text or chat output. Without a net to safeguard against these risks, businesses can be exposed to threats such as data poisoning, data loss, and sensitive data exposure. Steps must be taken to prevent abuse by malicious actors that are preying on AI’s widespread adoption.  

GenAI Secure by CSS allows customers to protect against these risks without disrupting critical internal workflows. GenAI Secure works to protect data integrity by ensuring that users are safe from malware and that the data doesn’t contain sensitive information when it shouldn’t. 

How does GenAI Secure Work?

To protect applications integrated with GenAI, CSS’s solution scans data for malicious code as well as sensitive information, starting with training GenAI models and ending with the delivered output in text or chat that’s served downstream for use.

GenAI Secure is built using modern serverless architecture and installs within the customer’s AWS account; this means data doesn’t leave the customer’s environment for scanning. Deployment via an AWS CloudFormation template or HashiCorp Terraform module makes it easy to get up and running so that AI data can be rapidly secured. 

A variety of scanning engines can be used for multi-layered verification and quarantining is automated. Access to sensitive data is restricted via custom regular expression policies that are written for you simply by entering a prompt. Additionally, forensic analysis and malware remediation recommendations are available.
