Salt Lake City, November 4, 2024 – Cloud Storage Security (CSS), a leader in advanced threat detection and data loss prevention for cloud-native applications, today announced that Kevin Hunt, the company’s chief technology officer, will deliver a keynote at the CloudX 2024 conference produced by DeveloperWeek. The event takes place November 5-7, 2024, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California. Hunt’s session, “Managing Data Security in Multi-Cloud Environments,” is scheduled for the API World Main Stage on Thursday, November 7, at 10:30 a.m. PST. The session will be reprised live during the CloudX Virtual event, set for Thursday, November 14 at 10:30 a.m. PST.
“I look forward to speaking at CloudX and sharing our perspectives on new strategies for maintaining data security in multi-cloud environments, which are becoming increasingly prominent for enterprises,” said Hunt. “The expansion of networked computing and storage platforms which disperse data well beyond the traditional use of on-premises servers creates unique challenges for businesses in terms of threat detection, mitigation, and management. It will become crucial for enterprises to consider a data-centric approach to keeping critical information secure.”
In his remarks, Hunt will present an overview of the Data Security Maturity Model (DSMM), a simple and flexible framework that can allow enterprises and developers to quickly understand strengths and weaknesses in their security strategy. The model does not replace certifications and other compliance requirements, but rather provides an evaluation and scoring methodology to obtain a snapshot of current practices. The DSMM also provides users with a roadmap for addressing lagging areas and strengthening security throughout development and deployment.
