Presentation will describe business challenges and offer practical advice for managing data security in multi-cloud environments.
Salt Lake City, November 4, 2024 – Cloud Storage Security (CSS), a leader in advanced threat detection and data loss prevention for cloud-native applications, today announced that Kevin Hunt, the company’s chief technology officer, will deliver a keynote at the CloudX 2024 conference produced by DeveloperWeek. The event takes place November 5-7, 2024, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California. Hunt’s session, “Managing Data Security in Multi-Cloud Environments,” is scheduled for the API World Main Stage on Thursday, November 7, at 10:30 a.m. PST. The session will be reprised live during the CloudX Virtual event, set for Thursday, November 14 at 10:30 a.m. PST.
“I look forward to speaking at CloudX and sharing our perspectives on new strategies for maintaining data security in multi-cloud environments, which are becoming increasingly prominent for enterprises,” said Hunt. “The expansion of networked computing and storage platforms which disperse data well beyond the traditional use of on-premises servers creates unique challenges for businesses in terms of threat detection, mitigation, and management. It will become crucial for enterprises to consider a data-centric approach to keeping critical information secure.”
In his remarks, Hunt will present an overview of the Data Security Maturity Model (DSMM), a simple and flexible framework that can allow enterprises and developers to quickly understand strengths and weaknesses in their security strategy. The model does not replace certifications and other compliance requirements, but rather provides an evaluation and scoring methodology to obtain a snapshot of current practices. The DSMM also provides users with a roadmap for addressing lagging areas and strengthening security throughout development and deployment.
Cloud Storage Security (CSS) provides real-time malware detection and prevention services that operate within cloud clients, as well as across multi-cloud environments, offering inspection and prevention of malware intrusions, assessment of stored data, event-driven ingress and egress scanning for malware threats, and prevention of inappropriate data disclosures. CSS’s in-tenant, cloud-native scanning with multiple commercially proven threat engines provides enterprises with outstanding and reliable data security.
CloudX 2024 is a premier educational conference for developers and organizations looking to expand capabilities and share or enhance knowledge of the latest practices, tricks of the trade, and innovative solutions across the modern cloud and non-cloud operational landscape. The program is produced in-person and again as a live virtual event the following week to provide access to a broad global audience.
